Pfeiffer Men's Lacrosse Soars Past Guilford, 19-9
Greensboro, N.C. (Feb. 28, 2024) – The Pfeiffer University men's lacrosse team earned their first win of the season in convincing fashion with a 19-9 thumping of Guilford College in Greensboro on Wednesday night at Appenzeller Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Leading 4-2 heading into the second quarter, Pfeiffer outscored the host Quakers 6-1 to take a 10-3 lad and never looked back. The Falcons also outscored Guilford 6-2 in the third quarter to lead 16-5 heading into the fourth. Guilford added four goals in the fourth and Pfeiffer scored three times to provide the 19-9 final.

Pfeiffer had 11 players score in the game, with
Ethan Miles leading the way with four goals. Miles also added a pair of assist to finish with six points on the night.
Zach Gignac scored three times for Pfeiffer while
Trent Orr,
Zach DeFazio, and
Quinn Becraft each scored twice.
Single goals were scored by
Jared Butler,
Khyler Johnson,
Tyler Finley, Brandon Lift,
Tobias Ballester and
Chase Benton.
William Wozniak led the way with five ground balls and a team-best two caused turnovers.
As a team, Pfeiffer outshot the Quakers 45-36 and caused 33 Guilford turnovers.
Pfeiffer had a trio of goalkeepers see action in the game, with
Jason Rowland earning the win while making nine saves.Â
Oliver Buch and
Korbin Hamilton also saw time in goal with each making one save.
