SVU Hands Pfeiffer Women's Tennis a 5-4 Defeat

Buena Vista, Va. (March 13, 2024)– Visiting Pfeiffer University dropped their USA South opening women's tennis match at Southern Virginia University on Wednesday afternoon.

RECORDS
Pfeiffer – 7-1, 0-1 USA South
Southern Virginia – 6-0, 1-0 USA South

THE BASICS
Southern Virginia took all three doubles matches, then won the matches at Nos. 1 and six to secure the narrow 5-4 win over Pfeiffer.

The Falcons got wins in singles play at No. 2 (Megan Rekieta), No. 3 (Haley Ingentio), No. 4 (Riley Isley), and No. 5 (Alison Sloop).

Ingenito and Sloop won their matches in three sets while Rekieta and Isley won in straight sets.

BACK ON COURT
The Falcons will continue USA South play on Friday, March 15 with a road match at N.C. Wesleyan.  Start time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in Rocky Mount, N.C.
