Box Score Pfeiffer Men's Lacrosse Earns First NCAA Tournament Win in 13-12 Road Triumph at Centre College 
Danville, Ky. (May 8, 2024) – The Pfeiffer University men's lacrosse won the program's first NCAA Tournament game in a 13-12 win over Centre College at Andy Frye Stadium in Danville, Kentucky in the first round of the 2024 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Centre College jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first quarter before Pfeiffer freshman 
Trent Orr notched his first NCAA postseason goal at 4:41 to pull the Falcons to 4-1.
The Falcons then opened the second quarter with a score from 
Zach DeFazio goal that was assisted by 
Zach Gignac with pulled Pfeiffer to 4-2.
After Centre made it 5-2, the Falcons responded with a pair of goals, the first from senior 
Quinn Becraft and the second from freshman 
Davis Russell to make it 5-4.
After giving up another Colonel goal, Pfeiffer answered with three straight scores to take their first lead of the game at 7-6.  Centre then tied the game at 7-7 with a score 20 seconds before halftime.
In the third quarter, the Colonels outscored the Falcons 2-1 to boost their lead to 9-8.
Pfeiffer opened the fourth quarter with three straight scores to go up 11-9, capped by Becraft's goal at 7:57.  Pfeffer would not relinquish the lead the rest of the way, as the evenly-matched squads traded goals the rest of the way, with the Falcons taking the 13-12 win.

Trent Orr scored a team-high five goals and added an assist to finish with six points.

Quinn Becraft each scored two goals each while 
Mason Tardiff and 
Davis Russell added a goal each in the win.
Defensively, the Falcons forced 22 Colonel turnovers with 
Spencer Stokes, 
Davis Russell and 
Oliver Buch each causing a pair of turnovers each.  
Zach Gignac had five ground balls in the win while Buch made 14 saves on the afternoon to earn the win in goal.
Centre's Ridr Knowlton led the Colonels with seven goals.  He was the only Centre player to score multiple goals on the afternoon.

Pfeiffer advances to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and will travel to Lynchburg, Va. for a 1:00 p.m. matchup with the Hornets.
