Pineville, N.C. (Sept. 11, 2024)- The Pfeiffer University men's soccer team scored a pair of second half goals to take a road win over Johnson & Wales on Wednesday night in Pineville, N.C.
How it Happened
After a scoreless first half, Pfeiffer's
Alex Michael netted a pair of second half goals. His first goal came in the 47th minute on an assist from
Caleb Yopp.
JWU responded to tie the match at 1-1 with a Eufenio de la Parra unassisted goal in the 54th minute.
Michael woulld provide the eventual game-winner in the 87th minute when he took a pass from
Mateo Lata, providing the 2-1 final.
Goalkeeper
Tommaso Cantini earned his first win for the Falcons, as he made one save on the evening while his JWU counterpart had three saves.
As a team, Pfeiffer outshot the Wildcats 10-7 and held an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Pfeiffer improves to 2-1 on the season while JWU dips to 1-2-1 overall.
The Falcons will return to play on Sunday, Sept. 15 with a Noon kickoff against the College of Wooster at Lefko-Mills Field.
