Pfeiffer Women's Tennis Grabs 5-2 Road Win at Guilford

Greensboro, N.C. (Sept. 25, 2024)– The Pfeiffer University women's tennis team grabbed a 5-2 nonconference dual match win at the McMilliam Courts on the campus of Guilford College on Wednesday afternoon

THE BASICS
Pfeiffer was able to win the doubles point thanks to a pair of wins at No. 2 and No. 3.  Sonya Rhoades and Fanny Apostolou took their No. 2 match by a 6-4 score while Alison Sloop and Haley Ingenito were 6-1 winners in their No. 3 match.

In singles play, Apostolou won at No. 3 by a 6-2, 6-3 score.  Pfeiffer also claimed wins at the Nos. 4, 5 and 6 matches.

Sydney Cohen won her No. 4 match in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, while Rhoades was a 6-2, 6-1 winner at No. 5.

Rounding out the wins for Pfeiffer was Kristen Colie, as she took her No. 6 match by a 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 final.

The Next Match
The Falcons will return to the Knapp Tennis Center in Misenheimer for a home exhibition match against Division II Anderson University on Saturday, Sept.28. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
