GREENSBORO, N.C. (Sept. 4, 2024) --The Pfeiffer University volleyball team could not out-play a potent Quakers offense Wednesday on the road falling to Guilford in three sets (16-25, 26-28, 20-25).
The non-conference loss moved Pfeiffer to 2-2 on the season.
Haedyn McGrath finished with eight kills on the day to lead the Falcons attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .25. got 8 digs from Gabby Edwards to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Falcons found themselves in an early hole, losing a tough first set 25-16. Pfeiffer trailed by as many as 10 points as Guilford grabbed the advantage for good at 8-7 in a set that was tied up four times before the Quakers took control.
SET 2 | A 28-26 set-two loss put Pfeiffer behind two sets to none in the match. The Falcons dropped a tight second set, losing in a stanza that was tied five times and had two lead changes.
SET 3 | Pfeiffer couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Falcons dropped the set 25-20 in spite of a solid performance on the attacking end. Pfeiffer registered a .375 attack percentage with 11 kills in the set loss.

Pfeiffer will return to The Village on Friday, Sept. 6 to open the home portion of their schedule at 2:00 p.m. when they host the Bruins of Carolina University in Merner Gym.
