MISENHEIMER, N.C. — Pfeiffer University powered past Johnson & Wales Charlotte 92-78 on Tuesday night at Merner Gym, fueled by a strong inside presence and fast-break scoring.
The Falcons (2-1) shot 60.7% from the field and outscored the Wildcats 62-54 in the paint while turning 33 fast-break points into separation. Pfeiffer led 50-35 at halftime and never trailed.

Doug Smith delivered a monster performance with 26 points on 9-of-10 shooting, 15 rebounds and five blocks. Guard
Sean Sucarichi added 21 points and four assists, while
Justin Gaten chipped in 11 points and three assists. Pfeiffer finished with 19 assists and seven blocks as a team.
JWU Charlotte (0-3) was paced by Cooper Wiley, who scored a game-high 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Jordan Appling added 12 points, and Christian Outlaw had seven points and five boards.
Pfeiffer dominated early, opening the game on an 8-2 run and stretching the lead to 15 points by halftime. The Falcons held JWU to 1-of-12 from beyond the arc and forced 11 turnovers.
The Falcons will travel to Lynchburg on Thursday, Nov. 13 for a 7:00 p.m. tilt with the Hornets.
