Pfeiffer Women Opens USA South Play With 87-77 Win at Greensboro
GREENSBORO, N.C. (Nov. 22, 2025) — Sophomore
Ava Hairston scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds as Pfeiffer University pulled away late to beat Greensboro College 87-77 in USA South Conference play Saturday afternoon at Hanes Gymnasium.
Hairston went 5 of 10 from the field and added six free throws for the Falcons (3-2, 1-0 USA South).
Lettie Michael and
Janiya Byrd each chipped in 13 points, with Michael hitting three 3-pointers and Byrd adding three assists.
Nyree Bell scored 12 points and
Peyton McPeters contributed eight points and five assists.
Pfeiffer dominated the paint with 52 points and forced 31 turnovers, converting them into 25 points. The Falcons also recorded 24 steals and outscored Greensboro 16-2 on fast breaks.
Kensly Stewart led the Pride (2-3, 0-1) with 18 points, including three 3-pointers, while Karlie Effler added eight points and five steals. Greensboro stayed close through three quarters before Pfeiffer used an 11-2 run in the fourth to seal the win.
Pfeiffer returns to Merner Gym on Tuesday, Nov., 25 when they host Salem College at 6 p.m.
