Pfeiffer Men's Tennis Sweeps Roanoke 7-0
Misenheimer, N.C. (Feb. 22, 2025)– The Pfeiffer University men's tennis team took a 7-0 home win over visiting Roanoke College on Saturday afternoon at the Knapp Tennis Center in Misenheimer.

THE BASICS
Pfeiffer took control of the match early by sweeping all three doubles matches to jump ahead 1-0. The team of freshman
Aissultan Mukhambetov and
Jayden Wellman won their No. 2 match 6-1 to start the sweep.
In singles play, Pfeiffer won all six contested matches, with Mukhambetov rolling over Roanoke's John-Henry Herrington by a 6-0, 6-0 final in the No. 4 match.
Following a win at No. 6 by
Bogdan Stan (6-2, 6-3) and at No. 5 by
Andres Valdez-Arze (6-2, 6-0), the Falcons clinched the win when graduate student
Benedikt Pfeiffer won his match at No. 1 over Federico Maccari by a 6-3, 0-6, 1-0 (10-2) score to give Pfeiffer the win.
Mathius Dessureau and Wellman also won their matches at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively to provide the sweep.
The Next Match
Pfeiffer will open USA South play on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 2:00 p.m. against No. 22 N.C. Wesleyan at the Knapp Tennis Center.
