MISENHEIMER, N.C. --Senior Emma Bullin, freshman Peyton Lane and freshman Reese Caranna combined to throw a no-hitterĀ on Friday as the No. 24 Pfeiffer Falcons blanked the Salem (NC) Spirits 8-0 in five innings in the first game of a USA South doubleheader at Jack Ingram Field.
Bullin (11-4) started and picked up the win for Pfeiffer (17-7, 5-0), going three shutout innings without giving up a hit, walking none, and striking out four. Lane was dealing out of the bullpen as well, going one shutout inning without allowing a hit, walking none and striking out one.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons took the lead for good in the first, scoring for the first time in the inning. Junior Landry Stewart came across to score the lone run of the inning for Pfeiffer and get them on the board.
The Falcons then tacked on runs in the third inning when they scored seven times. The big hit in that inning was a two-run error off the bat of freshman Natalie Auman.

In game two, Pfeiffer received contributions from every part of their lineup, as all nine starters reached base safely, helping the No. 24 Falcons put 12 runs on the board and take down Salem College 12-4 Friday in six innings in the second game of a league doubleheader.
Senior Emma Bullin (12-4) started in the circle and picked up the win for Pfeiffer (18-7, 6-0). The right-hander went 4.2 innings, giving up one run on four hits, allowing one walk and striking out three.
In the batter's box, the Falcons were led by senior Gracie Griffin, who went 3-for-4 on the day with a double and two RBI. Senior Alyssa Broaddus put together a noteworthy performance at the plate as well, going 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and two RBI. Junior Charly Cooper also contributed for Pfeiffer, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate while adding a double, a walk and two RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the bottom the first inning with the game still scoreless. Pfeiffer's offense started clicking and put up six runs, including a two-run double off the bat of freshman Natalie Auman and a two-run double from Broaddus.
The Falcons then held the Spirits scoreless before expanding their lead in the third inning. Pfeiffer picked up two runs when a single from Griffin scored senior Skylar Price and junior Landry Stewart, which brought the score to 8-0 in favor of the Falcons.
Salem (NC) narrowed Pfeiffer's lead to 8-4 before the Falcons stretched the advantage to 12-4 in the sixth inning. The Falcons bats heated up in the inning, scoring four runs, including a two-run double off the bat of Cooper. The score remained 12-4 for the rest of the game, as Pfeiffer coasted to the win.
