Greensboro, N.C. (April 16, 2025) – Visiting Pfeiffer University claimed a 25-5 USA South win at rival Greensboro College at Pride Field in Greensboro, N.C. on Wednesday night.

With the win, Pfeiffer runs its USA South unbeaten streak to 18 straight games, dating back to the 2023 season.

Pfeiffer also clinches at least a tie for the USA South Regular Season Championship, their fourth title in the past five seasons and third straight regular season crown.

Additionally, by virtue of the win over the Pride, Pfeiffer has clinched the right to host the USA South Tournament for the third straight season.

Following the completion of the regular season on Saturday, April 18, the Falcons will host the USA South semifinals on Thursday, May 1 and championship game on Saturday, May 3, with the start times to be determined.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons jumped out to a 2-0 lead and had a huge second quarter, scoring nine goals to take the 11-0 lead into halftime.

Greensboro got on the board for the first time with the first goal of the third quarter to make it 11-1. Pfeiffer answered with three goals to go up 14-1 before Greensboro tallied a score at the 6:15 mark, making it 14-2.

Pfeiffer went on a 7-1 run to end the third quarter leading 21-3.

The Falcons would then outscore Greensboro 4-2 in the fourth quarter to provide the 25-5 final.

Inside the Box Score
Eight different Falcon players scored, with Mason Tardiff have a monster outing, scoring six goals and supplying three assists to finish with nine points.

Zach Gignac had seven points, scoring five goals and dishing a pair of assists. Khyler Johnson scored four goals while Dylan Sullivan and Ethan Miles also scored three times each. Miles would also add five assists to finish with eight points.

Andrew Brown added a pair of goals while Nick Pestrichello and Trent Orr had one goal each. Orr also had two assists on the evening.

Defensively, Falcon starting goalkeeper Korbin Hamilton earned the win by making 10 saves. Ayden Cox also saw action in goal, as he made one save.

Lee Caldwell was once again perfect of faceoffs, as he was 7-of-7 on the night. Chase Henderson was 11-of-15 while Elias Solano finished 7-of-11 from the dot. Henderson also led Pfeiffer with seven ground balls. All told, 25 Falcons had at least one ground ball while 14 different players recorded at least a pair of ground balls.

Pfeiffer will complete the regular season with a 1:00 p.m. road game at Brevard College on Saturday, April 18.
