Pfeiffer Men's Lacrosse to Travel to St. Mary's (Md.) For NCAA Tournament
Misenheimer, N.C. (May 4, 2025) – The Pfeiffer University men's lacrosse team, fresh off their third-consecutive USA South Championship, will travel to St. Mary's City, Md. to take on the St. Mary's College Seahawks in a NCAA First-Round game on Wednesday, May 7 at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium on the St. Mary's campus at 4:00 p.m.
The meeting will be the first between the two programs.
The Falcons enter the NCAA Tournament with a 15-3 overall record after winning the USA South Tournament Championship in dominant fashion this past Saturday afternoon, as they punished
third-seeded Methodist 18-3 in front of a rowdy Lefko-Mills Field crowd.
Pfeiffer has won 25 straight games over USA South foes dating back to the 2023 season, a span of 743 days. The Falcons have also turned in perfect 8-0 league seasons in back-to-back campaigns.
St. Mary's enters the NCAA Tournament with a 9-7 overall record. The Seahawks finished United East Conference play at 3-0 and won the United East Tournament 21-8 over Penn College on Saturday, May 3.
The Falcons and Seahawks share two common opponents from the 2025 season in Hampden-Sydney and Lynchburg. Pfeiffer dropped a 20-13 decision to Hampden-Sydney while the Seahawks fell 10-9. Both teams also fell to Lynchburg, with Pfeiffer falling to the No. 13 Hornets 21-12 while St. Mary's lost 19-5.
As a comparison, St. Mary's is 3-4 in games played at home while Pfeiffer has a road record of 5-2 on the season.
Last season, Pfeiffer earned the first NCAA postseason win in program history with a 13-12 road win at Centre College in Danville, Ky. The Falcons then fell at Lynchburg in the second round. The win over Centre was also the first NCAA win for any team in the USA South, which began sponsoring men's lacrosse in 2018.
The NCAA and St. Mary's will release ticket information for the upcoming NCAA Tournament in the coming days.
