Falcon Women Wins Over Greensboro, 76-59

MISENHEIMER, N.C. — Pfeiffer used a dominant interior performance and a decisive fourth quarter push to pull away from rival Greensboro College, earning a 76–59 USA South win Wednesday night inside Merner Gym.

The Falcons (9–5, 7–1 USA South) controlled the game with balance and depth, placing five players in double figures and outscoring the Pride 52–24 in the paint. Pfeiffer also owned the glass, finishing with a 58–42 rebounding advantage while generating 30 fast-break points.

The 58 rebounds are the most for a Pfeiffer team since securing 56 boards against Bob Jones on Jan. 13, 2025

Nyree Bell led Pfeiffer with 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting, while Miya Horton added 13 points, five rebounds and three steals. Mya Edwards supplied a strong presence inside with 10 points and seven rebounds, and Ava Hairston sparked the defensive effort with six steals.

After carrying a 38–33 halftime lead, Pfeiffer gradually stretched the margin in the third quarter before breaking the game open in the fourth, where the Falcons held Greensboro to just 12 points while converting 8 of 10 free throws.

Greensboro (4–9, 1–5 USA South) was led by Tatum Bradford, who scored a game-high 18 points, including four made threes. Kensly Stewart added 12 points, nine steals and three assists, but the Pride struggled with ball security, committing 30 turnovers, which Pfeiffer converted into 24 points.

Both teams traded early runs, with five ties and a lead change in the opening quarter, but Pfeiffer's depth ultimately proved the difference. The Falcons' bench outscored Greensboro's reserves 39–31.

Pfeiffer travels to league-leading Southern Virginia for their next conference game on Saturday, Jan. 17.  Tipoff in Buena Vista, Va. is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
