Winter Weather Threat Prompts Changes to the Pfeiffer Athletics Schedule

Misenheimer, N.C. (Jan. 22, 2026) – The impending winter storm expected throughout the Southeastern United States this upcoming weekend has prompted Pfeiffer University Athletics to alter the upcoming competition schedule.

Women's Basketball
The Pfeiffer women's basketball team was originally scheduled to host North Carolina Wesleyan on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 2:00 p.m.

In coordination with North Carolina Wesleyan, the game will now be played on Monday, Feb. 9 at 6:00 p.m. at Merner Gym.

Men's Basketball
The Pfeiffer men's basketball team was scheduled for a USA South game at William Peace on Saturday, Jan. 24.  That game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 7:00 p.m. in Raleigh, N.C.

In addition, Pfeiffer's home game with No. 14 Christopher Newport on Sunday, Jan. 25 has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.

Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field
The Pfeiffer indoor track and field teams were scheduled to take part in the ASICS Superblast Invitational at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem on Sunday, Jan. 25.  Pfeiffer will no longer compete in that meet.

Men's Lacrosse
The Pfeiffer men's lacrosse scrimmage against Catawba College at Lefko-Mills Field will now take place on Friday, Jan. 23 at 1:00 p.m.

High School Basketball
Pfeiffer University is also scheduled to host the Albemarle vs. North Stanly basketball games on Friday, Jan. 23.  Those games will start at 4:30 p.m. with the JV boy's game, followed by the varsity girl's and boy's games at approximately 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
