MISENHEIMER, N.C. (Oct. 10, 2026) — Playing much of the match with 10 players, and through heavy rains from the remnants of Hurricane Isaias, Pfeiffer still delivered a strong defensive effort and earned a 2-0 USA South victory over Methodist on Homecoming Saturday at Lefko-Mills Field.
Pfeiffer's
Aiden Dualan broke the scoreless deadlock in the 32nd minute, finding the back of the net off an assist from
Alex Michael to give Pfeiffer a 1-0 lead.
The Falcons faced adversity earlier in the half when
Jaiden Wright was issued a red card in the 27th minute, forcing Pfeiffer to play a player down for more than an hour. Despite the disadvantage, the Falcons held firm defensively and carried their one-goal lead into halftime.
Pfeiffer added valuable insurance in the 68th minute when
Drew Garro scored off an assist from
Barrett Owens, extending the advantage to 2-0. Garro and Dualan each recorded their second goals of the season.
Junior goalkeeper
Seth Limbert anchored the Falcons' defensive effort with four saves, posting the shutout as Pfeiffer withstood 12 Methodist shots and eight corner kicks.
Methodist outshot Pfeiffer 12-8 and held an 8-3 edge in corner kicks, but the Monarchs were unable to solve Limbert and the Falcons' back line. Josh Mott led Methodist with two shots on goal.
With the win, Pfeiffer improved to 6-3-2 overall and 1-2-1 in USA South play, while Methodist fell to 8-1-4 overall and 1-1-2 in conference play.
