BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. (Feb. 10, 2026) —
Dylan Sullivan scored nine goals and Pfeiffer exploded for eight first-period tallies on its way to a 27–7 rout of Montreat College on Tuesday evening at Pulliam Stadium.
Sullivan's nine scores makes him just the six player in program history to acheive the feat. Former standout Quinn Becraft was the last Falcon to score nine goals in the 2022 season against Brevard.
Pfeiffer (2-0) overwhelmed the Cavaliers from the start, leading 8-1 after the opening quarter and 15-1 at halftime. Sullivan powered the Falcons' attack with a career-best performance, scoring at least once in every period and adding several goals in transition and settled sets.
Tiger Hopkins fueled the offense with five goals and five assists, repeatedly finding Sullivan and
Ethan Miles cutting through the middle. Miles finished with five goals and four assists, while
Davis Palombo added three goals.
Pfeiffer's transition game and faceoff dominance shaped the lopsided outcome. The Falcons won 23 of 36 draws and outshot Montreat 65-40, including 45 shots on goal. Pfeiffer also forced 33 turnovers and collected 57 ground balls.
Montreat (0-1), playing its season opener, was led by D'Andrae McKenzie and Garrett Thomson with two goals apiece. The Cavaliers scored four times in the final period but could not cut into the deficit built over the first three quarters.
Pfeiffer's defense and rotating goalies combined for 16 saves. Starter
Korbin Hamilton stopped three early shots before the Falcons began sharing minutes between four goalkeepers.
The Falcons will turn their focus to their home opener on Saturday, Feb. 14 against periennal power Hampden-Sydney. Start time is scheduled for Noon at Lefko-Mills Field.
