MATTHEWS, N.C. (March 24, 2026) — The Pfeiffer University baseball team scored in every inning but the first and third en route to a 16-6 road win at Johnson & Wales on Tuesday afternoon.
Pfeiffer got started by plating three runs in the second inning thanks to a sacrifice fly from
Levi Barrett then on an RBI single from
Ben Mecimore.
Christian Bellantoni made it 3-0 when he scored on an error by the JWU pitcher.
The score would balloon to 6-0 with another three run inning, this time coming in the fourth.
Joe Javier delivered an RBI single then
Jack Brandle hit a two-RBI double that scored
Ethan Willard and Javier.
With the score 12-6 entering the ninth inning, Pfeiffer tacked on four more, with freshman
Ben Mecimore capped the scoring with a two-run home run to provide the final.
Seven different Pfeiffer pitchers saw action, with
Cameron Cooper earning the win, as he tossed 1.1 innings, allowing one run on just two hits while striking out one JWU batter.
The Falcons will return to USA South play this upcoming weekend when they travel to Southern Virginia for a three-game set. First pitch on Friday, March 27 is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
