HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — Pfeiffer remained unbeaten Monday with a dominant 7-0 sweep of Western New England at the Hilton Head Beach & Tennis Resort, extending the Falcons' record to 8–0 on the season.
Pfeiffer opened strong in doubles, securing the match's first point with three decisive wins.
Sydney Cohen and
Riley Isley posted a 6-0 victory on the top court, while
Kristen Colie and
Gracie Spangler matched the shutout at No. 2.
Brianna Lail and
Anna Smith completed the sweep with a 6-0 win at No. 3.
The Falcons carried their momentum into singles, winning all six courts without dropping a match. At No. 1,
Haley Ingenito earned a straight-sets win over Emma Miller.
Fanny Apostolou added a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2, and Spangler rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 decision at No. 3.
Claire Germain cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4, while
Aubrie Gatz battled through a three-set tiebreak to defeat Elise Catlett 6-1, 4-6, 10-6 at No. 5.
Addison Furr closed out the sweep with a 6-2, 6-0 victory on court six.
Western New England (3–10) was unable to claim a set across singles or doubles, falling to 0–3 in doubles and 0–6 in singles.
The Falcons will return to action on Tuesday, March 10 with a 1:30 p.m. match with Messiah at Chaplin Park.
