ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (April 10, 2026) — Pfeiffer pitcher
James Eason scattered nine hits in a complete-game shutout Friday night as Pfeiffer blanked N.C. Wesleyan 2-0 in the first game of a USA South Conference baseball series at Bauer Field.
Eason (6-3) went nine innings, allowing only two walks while striking out four in a 36-batter effort to earn his first shutout of the season. He worked out of several jams, stranding nine runners, including multiple baserunners in five different innings.
Pfeiffer (17-13, 10-2 USA South) broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning.
Christian Bellantoni led off with a single, stole second and moved to third on a fly ball, then scored on
Jack Brandle's sacrifice fly to left.
The Falcons added an insurance run in the ninth.
Joe Javier singled with two outs and stole second before Brandle lined an RBI single to right to make it 2-0. Brandle drove in both runs for Pfeiffer.
N.C. Wesleyan (10-20, 6-7) got a strong start from Colby Lewis, who struck out 10 and gave up two runs in 8.2 innings but was tagged with the loss. The Battling Bishops finished with nine hits but went 0 for 9 with runners in scoring position.
The Falcons and Bishops will complete the series on Saturday, April 11 with a doubleheader that starts at 1:00 p.m.
