Softball Sweeps Rival Greensboro, 5-2 and 9-5

MISENHEIMER, N.C. (April 11, 2026) — Pfeiffer completed a home doubleheader sweep of rival Greensboro College on Saturday, using strong pitching and timely hitting to earn 5-2 and 9-5 victories in USA South Conference softball action at Jack Ingram Field.

In the opener, Pfeiffer (23-8, 9-1 USA South) broke through with three runs in the third inning and added two more in the fourth to pull away from Greensboro (14-13). Heather Vaughn went 3-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored, while E.A. Nance drove in two runs for the Falcons. Kirstyn Herman added an RBI double.

Abigail Bowman picked up the win in relief, striking out eight and allowing just two hits over six scoreless innings. Greensboro scored its only runs in the second inning on a two-run double by Ella Ebert.

Pfeiffer completed the sweep in the second game with a 9-5 win, jumping out to an early lead with three runs in the first inning and five more in the second. Raven Taylor hit a three-run home run, and Mollie Bulla and E.A. Nance also homered as the Falcons built an 8-0 cushion.

Landry Stewart scored twice and swiped a base, while Natalie Auman drove in a run and scored twice for Pfeiffer, which finished with 10 hits. Bowman earned her second win of the day, allowing three runs over 4.2 innings in relief.

Greensboro threatened with four runs in the third inning and added a run in the fifth, but Pfeiffer's pitching and defense held down the Pride the rest of the way.

Pfeiffer will return to play on Wednesday, April 15 for a USA South doubleheader with William Peace.  First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Jack Ingram Field.
