MISENHEIMER, N.C. (April 7, 2026) — Pfeiffer secured a gritty 4-3 USA South victory over visiting Methodist University, sweeping the doubles point and splitting singles play to edge the Monarchs at the Knapp Tennis Center on a sunny Tuesday afternoon.

The Falcons (14-2, 3-0 USA South) built an early advantage by winning two of three doubles matches. Jayden Wellman and Valter Albuquerque set the tone with a 7-6 win at No. 1 doubles over Matthew Hurley and Decklan Rayner. Pfeiffer clinched the doubles point when Aissultan Mukhambetov and Bogdan Stan outlasted Billy Johnson and Andrew Waddill 7-6 (8-6) at No. 3. Methodist's lone doubles win came at No. 2, where Harry Crokam and Aaron Zoubek defeated Aden Burgoyne and Hugo Kezen, 6-2.

In singles, the teams split six matches. Pfeiffer picked up straight-set victories from Kezen at No. 5, Burgoyne at No. 6 and Wellman at No. 3. Kezen rolled past Johnson 6-1, 6-2, while Burgoyne posted a 6-2, 7-5 win over Waddill.

Wellman sealed the team outcome with a thrilling three-set victory at No. 3, defeating Zoubek 7-5, 5-7, 6-2 in a marathon.

Methodist (8-5, 0-2 USA South) countered with singles wins at Nos. 1, 2 and 4. Decklan Rayner topped Stan 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4, and Harry Crokam earned a 7-5, 6-2 decision over Aissultan Mukhambetov at No. 2. Matthew Hurley added a three-set win at No. 1, rallying past Albuquerque 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Pfeiffer will return to play on Friday, April 10 with a 2:00 p.m. USA South road match at N.C. Wesleyan.
