Emerson Puzey enters her third season as a member of the Pfeiffer softball program
2020 (Sophomore) - Appeared in one game, throwing one complete inning. The season was canceled in mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
2019 (Freshman) - Pitched 13.2 innings, finishing with a 0.51 ERA with 14 strikeouts.
Emerson is double majoring in Health and Exercise Science and Psychology
Prior to Pfeiffer - Played at Nansemond-Suffolk Academy for four years and received multiple awards that included: Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools - First Team, Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools - Player of the Year, Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association - First Team All-State Division II.
Earned the Beth Fore Softball State Player of the Year during her junior season, also being the first women’s softball player to do so for her high school.
Was also named All-Hampton Roads - First Team. Was a part of the undefeated TCIS Regular Season Champions And the TCIS Tournament Champions team her junior year.
She was awarded Duke Automotive Suffolk News-Herald Player of the week 4/9/17 and Duke Automotive Suffolk News-Herald Female Athlete of the Year.
During her senior season she accumulated TCIS - First Team and VISAA - First Team All State Division II honors.
Achieved a career batting average in high school of .491, and had an ERA of 2.20 in 200.2 innings pitched and 230 strikeouts over her prep career.
Personal - Daughter of Greg Puzey and Anna Farpour and Alireza Farpour. Has three siblings, Berkley Puzey, Samantha Farpour, and Benjamin Farpour.
