K.C. Culler joined the Pfeiffer Falcons as the Assistant Athletic Director of Athletic Communications in August of 2018 after spending nearly four years as the Sports Information Director at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, N.C.

While at JCSU, he served as secretary of the CIAA Sports Information Directors Association and acted as the organization's vice president during his last two years with the Golden Bulls.  He also served on the CIAA golf championship committee and the CIAA softball championship committee. In addition, he was a voting representative for the CIAA in the NCAA Atlantic Regional Women's Basketball Poll.

In the spring of 2018, Culler served as the host media relations coordinator for the 2018 NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships which were held on the JCSU campus.  He was later named the John Holley-CIAA Sports Information Director of the Year for his work during the 2017-18 season.

Prior to JCSU, he spent two years as the Sports and Aquatics Director for PH Pool Management in Charlotte. There, he supervised over 60 lifeguards and was responsible for the operation of four swimming pools in the Highland Creek neighborhood as well as the coordination of summer sports camps and other special events.

Culler gained experience working in sports information and athletics media relations by serving as a gameday worker and freelancer at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C.  He has also been a part of staffs at numerous ACC, Southern Conference, Big South, Big XII, CIAA and NCAA Championships.  Additionally, he has been a statistician for the Nike EYBL and the Adidas Gauntlet tours.

Culler earned his B.S. in Sport Management from Western Carolina University in 2000. While in Cullowhee, he was a student assistant in the WCU Sports Information office and also an on-air host for WCU's campus radio station, WWCU-FM.

Following an internship at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee, he served as a graduate assistant in the Appalachian State University Sports Information Office.  While in Boone, he was the primary contact for field hockey, wrestling, men's and women's tennis, softball and track & field.

During his time with the Mountaineers, he was the host media relations contact for the ACC/SoCon MatJam wrestling championships and the NorPac Field Hockey Championships.

He graduated from Appalachian State in 2003 with a Master's degree in sport management.

His favorite pro teams are the New York Yankees, Miami Dolphins, and Carolina Hurricanes.  He is also a very proud and vocal supporter of his alma mater, the Western Carolina Catamounts.
 
In addition to his duties at Pfeiffer, Culler serves on the Usher Board and the Staff-Parish Relations Board at First United Methodist Church of Salisbury.  He also has been officiating high school, middle school, youth, and semi-pro football since 2007.

Culler and his wife enjoy traveling, having visited 21 countries, 34 states and three US territories.

He is determined to one day live in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

A native of the small village of Tobaccoville, N.C. (which is just north of Winston-Salem) Culler is married to the former Mo Lowery and lives in nearby Salisbury, N.C. with their pair of rambunctious boxers named US-VI and Maizey.
