Belmont Abbey Blanks Third-Straight Opponent as Men's Soccer Falls 2-0

BELMONT, N.C. - Belmont Abbey College posted their third-straight shutout with a 2-0 win over Pfeiffer University in Conference Carolinas men's soccer action on Saturday afternoon. The Crusaders, winners of four-in-a-row, move to 5-4-2 overall, 3-1-1 in league play while the Falcons dip to 1-5-3, 1-2-1.

Belmont Abbey held a 13-7 advantage in shots finding the back of the net in the 27th minute. After receiving a pass from Gianluca D'Agata, Stuart Kirk fired a shot to the near post that slipped underneath Falcon keeper Alex Moreno's hands for the 1-0 advantage.

The Crusaders found more breathing room just before the hour in the 59th minute as Matt Dolan bended home a shot into the top right corner. Timmi Borges DaSilva assisted on Dolan's tally.

In addition to firing six more shots overall, Belmont Abbey held an 8-1 advantage in shots on goal. Net minder Louis Liberatore stopped the lone Falcon shot on cage.

Pfeiffer will now take fall break off before hosting Coker on Wednesday, October 20th at 1:00 p.m.
