MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) announced its selections for the 2015 College Division All-State Men's Soccer team on Wednesday. Ten of the twenty-two players that were selected to the first and second teams were Pfeiffer Falcons. Cristobal Allendes, Jaime Siaj, Nathan Regis and Martim Galvao were named to the First Team, while six others were added to the Second Team.
Allendes picks up his first all-state award which follows his all-region and all-conference laurels. He anchored a Pfeiffer defensive unit that allowed only 13 goals this season and assisted the team to a school-record 12 shutouts. He posted four goals this season including three game-winners with his most recent score coming with one second left to send the Falcons to NCAA Final Four after defeating Palm Peach Atlantic, 5-4, on November 22.
Galvao received all-state, all-region and all-conference honors this season as he broke school-record with 19 assists and recorded a career-high three assists against Southern Wesleyan on Halloween. He tallied at least one point in 19 of his 23 games played and netted a pair of game-winning goals. Galvao logged an assist in each of the three victories in the NCAA Tournament.
Regis lands on the team following a record-breaking season that saw him shatter the school mark for most goals in a season (29), most points in a season (65) and most career goals (58). Regis leads all of Division II in goals scored and points as the Trinidad & Tobago native was also named Conference Carolinas Player of the Year. He was also named to the all-region and all-conference team, as well as NSCAA National Player of the Week. He is currently just two points shy of breaking the school record mark for most career points and has scored at least once in the last 11 games. He has posted at least two points in 22 of his 23 games played.
Siaj is second on the team with 36 points after posting 15 goals and six assists with six game-winning goals. He lands on the all-state team following all-region and all-conference honors. He tallied a goal in the first six games of the season and was among the nation's leaders with 109 shots, 52 of which (.477) were on goal. He put in a pair of goals in a trio of games and added a score in the 3-0 victory over Young Harris in the NCAA Tournament.
