MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The No. 20 Pfeiffer men's soccer team (11-2, 7-0 CC) recorded their fifth consecutive victory in a 5-0 win over King (7-8, 3-3) on Saturday night as Jaime Siaj recorded a hat trick with all three goals coming in the second half. The victory was Pfeiffer's 26th straight win at home and fifth straight clean sheet.
"I thought we played very well in the first 25 minutes," said Head Coach Bob Reasso. "We got a little casual in the last 20 minutes of the first half but were exceptional in the last 45. We're a good team and I'm enjoying watching them play."
The Falcons struck exactly six minutes into the opening frame as Juan Sanchez finished a perfect cross from Martim Galvao. The assist was Galvao's 41st of his career as he continues to add to his record-breaking total. In the 42nd minute, Roberto Soares controlled a loose ball and fired his shot past the keeper for his eighth goal of the season.
After the break, Pfeiffer built on its advantage as Santi Moar found Siaj who put it in the open net for his first goal of the night. King wouldn't register their first shot of the game until the 58th minute of the match as Luis Calderon's shot sailed wide of frame. In the 64th minute, Galvao sent his free kick into the box that Siaj headed home. The senior completed the hat in the 66th minute on a beautiful cross from Moar.
At home this season, Pfeiffer has outscored opponents 35-3 and haven't allowed a goal on Lefko Field in five straight.
The Falcons return to action on Wednesday evening as they host USC Aiken in their final non-conference match of the season. The Pacers look to break Pfeiffer's scoreless streak that has spanned 450 minutes.
