MISENHEIMER, NC- Thanks to a 67 point second half, the Pfeiffer men's basketball team erased a 21 point deficit to improve to 2-0 on the season for the first time since the 2010-11 campaign. Pfeiffer handed North Georgia their first loss of the season with a 93-86 final on Saturday. Andrew Guerrero scored a game-high 25 points including knocking down five from long range in the victory.

The Nighthawks dominated the first stanza of play scoring the first 15 points to start the contest, and pouring in 43 points for the half. North Georgia shot 56% from the floor in the first period compared to only 25% shooting for the Falcons.

The defense for Pfeiffer took over in the second half forcing, 18 of the 33 Nighthawk turnovers. The Falcons tied the game for the first time with 3:36 remaining following a layup by Mike Smith and a three-pointer by Guerrero. A layup by Josh Calhoun gave Pfeiffer their first lead of the game. Another Guerrero three-point extended Pfeiffer's lead to 82-79. North Georgia answered back tying the game on a Roderick English three. A.J. Clark then took over the game scoring five consecutive points including an and-one putting the Falcons up 89-86. Brendan Jones iced the game by connecting on a pair of free-throws to complete the comeback victory.

Pfeiffer's press baffled the Nighthawks the entire second half. The Falcons forced 33 turnovers and turned them into 37 points. Clark scored 24 points dished out a team-high five assists and registered three steals. Smith provided a spark off the bench scoring 13 points, with two steals and four boards. The Falcons had 20 steals as a team.

Pfeiffer returns to action on Wednesday, November 16 traveling to Brevard. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
