Senior forward Nathan Regis of Pfeiffer University headlines the 2016 Division II Conference Commissioners Association Men's Soccer All-America First Team as the repeat selection for Ron Lenz National Player of the Year.
Regis, of Arima, Trinidad & Tobago, leads NCAA Division II in points (58) and ranks second in goals (24) after leading the nation in both categories with 32 goals and 71 points on Pfeiffer's 2015 national championship team. He earns his third career D2CCA All-America honor and second straight on the first team after being named to the third team as a sophomore in 2014.
He is the second multiple-time selection as National Player of the Year and the first to do so in consecutive years. He joins Steven Beattie of Northern Kentucky, who was selected as a sophomore (2008) and senior (2010).
This marks the 11th year that teams have been selected since the program began in 2006.
Three other Falcons earned an All-America selection. Pfeiffer placed two on the second team with midfielder Martim Galvao and forward Jaime Siaj earning the award. Additionally, Dani Siaj was selected as a Third Team All-American.
Pfeiffer was one of only two teams in Division II to have four players selected as All-Americans.
Sports information directors from NCAA Division II schools and conferences sponsoring men's soccer selected the D2CCA All-America teams. The process begins at the regional level with all first team All-Region picks advancing to the national ballot.
The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
