MISENHEIMER, N.C. -- A late goal by each team sent tonight's men's soccer match to a 1-1 draw between Pfeiffer (4-5-1) and Shaw (4-5-2) at N.E. Lefko Field in the first of three straight home matches for the Falcons.

The game was scoreless for the first 82 minutes of action until the Falcons eventually broke through. At the 82:18 mark, Caz Dabrowski sent a cross into the box that deflected off a Shaw defender and past the keeper to give Pfeiffer a 1-0 advantage.

Pfeiffer tried to make that lead last through the end of regulation but the Bears would eventually net the equalizer. Exactly two minutes after Pfeiffer scored, the Bears were awarded a penalty kick as a result of a handball in the box. Goalkeeper Tomas Correa made a tremendous diving save to his right on the initial attempt by Steven Leigh but Leigh would gather control of the rebound in a scrum in front and push it across the goal line.

Neither team recorded a shot in the first 10-minute overtime period. Shaw took three shots to one for the Falcons in the second 10-minute stanza as the game ended in a tie.

For the match, Pfeiffer held an 18-11 advantage in shots, including a 9-4 advantage in the second half. The Falcons also held an extreme advantage in corner kicks on the night, taking eight of the nine attempts.

Santiago Farre made 10 stops for the Bears, while Correa made four saves for the Falcons. Caleb Bratager and Chris Brown each recorded four shots for Pfeiffer.

The Falcons return to action on Saturday afternoon as they host N.C. Wesleyan at 2 p.m.
