Late Goal Gives Meredith 1-0 Win Over Pfeiffer Women's Soccer
Raleigh, N.C. (Oct. 12, 2021) –Meredith College broke a scoreless stalemate in the 78
th minute, earning a 1-0 win over Pfeiffer University in a USA South women's soccer match on Tuesday night in Raleigh, N.C.

Meredith's Morgan Thomas scored her third goal of the season from an assist by Meredith Warrick to break a scoreless deadlock in the 78th minute, pushing Meredith to the eventual 1-0 win.
In the first half, Pfeiffer senior Tracy Torrez (Orlando, Fla.) had a shot that was handled by Meredith goalkeeper Miranda Lutz. Lutz would make another save right before halftime after senior Jessica Vazquez (High Point, N.C.) registered a shot on goal.
In the second half, Torrez had another shot on goal, but Lutz saved that shot as well. All told, Lutz had three saves on the match, with Pfeiffer's Britney Levy (Eustis, Fla.) making four saves in the loss.

Pfeiffer will take to the road for the final time this season on Saturday, Oct. 16, travelling to Danville, Va. for a USA South matchup with Averett. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
