Box Score 2 Pfeiffer Softball Drops Season-Opening Doubleheader to No. 15 Lenoir-Rhyne
Hickory, N.C. (Feb. 19, 2020) – The Pfeiffer Falcons softball team opened the 2021 season by dropping a pair of games at No. 15 Lenoir-Rhyne on Friday afternoon at Bears Field.

Game 2 – No. 15 Lenoir-Rhyne 8, Pfeiffer 0 (5 innings)

How it Happened
Game 1 – Lenoir-Rhyne jumped on top in the first on an RBI double from Talon LaClair, but Pfeiffer responded in the second to take the 2-1 lead when Ashlyn Kennedy laced a triple down the right field line that scored Paige Love and Addison York.
L-R would get a solo home run in the second to tie the game at 2-2, but Makenzie Pennell hit a three-run home run in the fourth to put the Falcons up 5-2. Another Bear homer in the fourth trimmed the Falcon lead to 5-3, but Pfeiffer managed to plate a run in the seventh to make it 6-3.
The Bears then got an RBI double and a pair of RBI singles in the seventh to manage the walk-off 7-6 win.
Game 2 – Lenoir-Rhyne took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and added three more in the second to take a 4-0 lead. The Bear lead would balloon to 5-0 in the third inning and then three more runs crossed in the fifth to end the game 8-0.
Up Next
The Falcons will host Brevard in a non-conference doubleheader to open the home portion of their schedule on Saturday, Feb. 19. Game times are scheduled for 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.
