Box Score Pfeiffer Men's Soccer Wins Season Opener at Guilford, 4-3
Greensboro, N.C. (Sept 1, 2021) –  The Pfeiffer University men's soccer team opened the 2021 season with a 4-3 win at Guilford on Wednesday night in Greensboro.

How It Happened
Pfeiffer's Caleb Bratager (Wake Forest, N.C.) scored a pair of goals while teammate Alex Martinez scored once and had an assist in the win.
Bratager, scored his 27
th career goal in the 10
th minute after receiving a pass from Martinez. Cristyan Cabrera (Salisbury, N.C.) made it 2-0 Falcons in the 27
th minute on an unassisted goal.
Guilford trimmed the Pfeiffer lead to 2-1 in the 37
th minute with a goal from Logan Eure, but Pfeiffer responded with another Bratager goal, his 28
th career tally in the 41's minute, supplying the 3-1 halftime lead for the Falcons.
Martinez made it 4-1 Pfeiffer in the 60
th minute but Guilford was not finished, as they scored in the 72
nd minute and the 82
nd minute to make it 4-3. Pfeiffer was able to keep the Quakers out of the goal the rest of the way, earning the win in the season opener.
The last time Pfeiffer won their season opener was on Sept. 1, 2019, also in a 4-3 win at Guilford.

Pfeiffer will hit the road for two straight matches this upcoming weekend, also against ODAC foes. The Falcons will take on Hampden-Sydney at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4 and Randolph College on Sunday, Sept. 5 at 3:00 p.m.
