Pfeiffer Volleyball Falls in Season Opener to Guilford
Misenheimer, N.C. (Sept. 1, 2021) – The Pfeiffer University volleyball team opened their 2021 season with a 3-0 home loss to Guilford College on Wednesday evening at Merner Gym.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
Guilford held Pfeiffer to just a .038 hitting percentage on the night, forcing the Falcons into 18 errors. The Quakers managed a .174 hitting percentage while knocking down 35 kills on the night.
Guilford was led by Adison Needham, as she had 10 kills in the season debut. Teammate Maddi Page had 31 assists on the night while Cydney Scott had a team-high 13 digs.
For Pfeiffer, freshman Kylee Mayberry (Harmony, N.C.) led the defensive effort with seven digs in her collegiate debut. Sophomore Lauren Shepherd (Southern Pines, N.C.) had five kills to lead the Falcons while Mayberry also lead the team with eight. Reagan Wyatt (Stoneville, N.C.) had a good outing defensively with five blocks on the match.

Pfeiffer returns to the court this upcoming Saturday, Sept. 4 as they host a tri-match with Carolina University and Ferrum College.
First serve in the tripleheader is scheduled for Noon in Merner gym, with Pfeiffer taking on CU in the opening match of the day.
