Falcons Claim 3-1 Win Over Roanoke

Pfeiffer Volleyball Takes 3-1 Home Win Over Roanoke

Misenheimer, N.C. (Sept. 14, 2021) – The Pfeiffer University volleyball team improved to 5-2 on the season with a 3-1 (25-15, 29-27, 19-25, 25-22) home nonconference win over ODAC foe Roanoke at Merner Gym on Tuesday night.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
Pfeiffer had three player post double-digit kills, with sophomore Morgan Shrader (Matthews, N.C.) leading the way with 15.  Junior Reagan Wyatt (Stoneville, N.C.) knocked down 14 kills while Lauren Shepherd (West End, N.C.) had 10.

Pfeiffer also had a great night at the net defensively, as the Falcons recorded 12 total blocks.  Wyatt led the way with six block assists and one solo block.  Mattie Burris (Misenheimer, N.C.) managed three block assists and one solo block while fellow junior Madison Honeycutt (Arroyo Grande, Cal.) had five block assists.  Freshman Anya Parker (Fort Mill, S.C.) also got into the block party by posting three block assists on the match.

Graduate student Emma Gray Beacham (Laurinburg, N.C.) led Pfeiffer with 20 digs while Shrader had 13.  Beacham also recorded three aces to lead the Falcons.

Up Next
After seven straight home matches to start the season, Pfeiffer will hit the road for the first time on Thursday, Sept. 16, travelling to Winston-Salem, N.C. to take on Carolina University in a 7:00 p.m. match.

The Falcons and Bruins have met twice so far this season, both times in Misenheimer.  Pfeiffer took the 3-1 win on Sept. 4 while the Bruins downed the Falcons 3-0 on Sept. 11.
