How It Happened
Visiting Carolina University scored the first goal of the game at the 21:01 mark when Mario Salinas got his second goal of the season on an assist from Owen Vaughan. Salinas' goal was the result of a well placed shot to the right of Falcon goalkeeper
Ali Jaafar (Matthews, N.C.).
The Falcons drew even at 1-1 at 42:19 when
Sam Stewart (Belhaven, N.C.) scored his fourth of the season on a penalty kick. Pfeiffer earned the opportunity after a Bruin defender was whistled for a handball within the box. Stewart then placed the ball to the Bruin goalkeeper's right side in knotting the match at 1-1.
Shortly after halftime, the Bruins would get the eventual game winner when Karell Buitendjik took a pass from Luke Spilane-Davis and beat Jaafar to go up 2-1. An insurance marker was scored at 84:28 when Francisco Tapia scored on an assist from Vaughan.
