INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
Mary Baldwin took just over 10 minutes to take the 1-0 lead when Alexis Barba scored his sixth goal of the season after taking a pass from Yefferson Hernandez.  A shot that was in the middle and high, Pfeiffer goalkeeper Ali Jaafar (Matthews, N.C.) was able to get a hand on the ball, but it bounced up, hit the crossbar and into the net, giving MBU the early 1-0 advantage.

The Falcons responded at 32:31 when sophomore Asuncio Gonzalez (Kannapolis, N.C.) scored his first career goal, unassisted, to help the Falcons draw even at 1-1.

After halftime, Pfeiffer's Luis Miranda (Wilmington, N.C.) scored his second goal of the season with assists going to Sam Stewart (Belhaven, N.C.) and Ricky Hernandez-Sexton (Mobile, Ala.), putting Pfeiffer up 2-1 at 54:08.

Stewart would earn a penalty kick  at 55:48 and would convert the penalty for a 3-1 Pfeiffer lead.  It marks the soxth goal of the season for Stewart, all on penalty kicks.  For his career, Stewart is a perfect 8-8 on penalty kick opportunities.

The final Falcon goal of the afternoon came in the 73rd minute when Jacob Rocha (Clearwater, Fla.) scored his first career goal on an assist from Stewart and senior Branson Adams (Asheboro, N.C.), providing the eventual 4-1 final.
