Pfeiffer Cross Country Takes on Queens Royals Invitatonal

Charlotte, N.C. (Oct. 8, 2022) – The Pfeiffer University Cross Country teams took the short trip to Charlotte, N.C. to take part in the Queens Royals Invitational at McAlpine Park on Friday, Oct. 8.

Pfeiffer's Madison Lowery (Kannapolis, N.C.) continued to impress, as she finished in 20^th place out of 271 runners with a time of 18:22.1 over the 5K course.  Lowery's time was the second-fastest time posted by a Division III runner in the highly competitive field of Division I and Division II runners in the "Gold Race".

In the women's "Blue Race", also a 5K, Pfeiffer's Micah Welborn (High Point, N.C. ) posted a 19^th place finish in the 203 runner field with a time of 20:30.1, which was also her career-best in a 5K.

On the men's side, Pfeiffer claimed a 19^th place finish out of 37 teams in the 8K "Blue Race".

The Falcons were led by Cole Huggins, as he finished 80^th in the field of 231 runners with a time of 28:54.0
