Winston-Salem, N.C. - The Pfeiffer University Indoor track and field team kicked off the season on Sunday at the JDL Early Bird Invitational this past weekend at the JDL FastTrack in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Leading the way was junior
Madison Lowery (Kannapolis, N.C.), who set a new Pfeiffer indoor record in the mile with a winning time of 5:08.15, which also set a new JDL Early Bird meet record.
In the women's weight throw,
Elizabeth Jones (Salisbury, N.C.) finished third, throwing a new school record of 13.87 meters. Grad student
Aaliyah Thomas (Pawley's Island, S.C.) also had a top-10 finish, claiming sixth place witha throw of 13.36m.
