Pfeiffer Women's Tennis Sweeps Albion College, 9-0

Hilton Head, S.C. (March 11, 2022) – Pfeiffer University swept Albion College in a nonconference women's tennis match by a 9-0 final in Hilton Head, S.C. on Thursday, March 10.

THE BASICS
Pfeiffer swept all three double matches and all five contested singles matches for their second 9-0 win this season.

Freshman Alison Sloop blanked her opponent at No. 5 singles by a 6-0, 6-0 score while Elithe Hudson won at No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-2.

Fellow freshman Megan Rekieta won at No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-3 while Sydney Gray took her No. 2 singles match 6-2, 6-1.   Freshman Brittany Mills rounded out singles play with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles.  Darby Sherrill won at No. 3 by forfeit.

In doubles play, Sherrill and Mills won 8-1 at No. 3 singles while Hudson and Sloop grinded out an 8-5 win at No. 2.  Gray and Rekieta won their match at No. 1 by an 8-2 count.

BACK ON COURT
The Falcon's will jump into USA South play on Saturday, March 26 with a road trip to N.C. Wesleyan.  Match time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
