Pfeiffer Women's Tennis Takes 9-0 Sweep Over Mary Baldwin
Misenheimer, N.C. (April 4, 2022) – The Pfeiffer University women's tennis team had little trouble in taking a 9-0 sweep over visiting Mary Baldwin University in a USA South tennis match on Sunday at the Knapp Tennis Center.

THE BASICS
Pfeiffer lost just one game in doubles competition and swept all six singles matches in straight sets.
The team of
Brittany Mills and
Darby Sherrill won their No. 2 doubles match by an 8-0 score as did the No. 3 team of
Alison Sloop and
Elithe Hudson. Senior
Sydney Gray and
Megan Rekieta took their match at No. 1 singles by an 8-1 score.
In singles play, Mills won her No. 4 match convincingly, downing MBU's Liz Wine 6-0, 6-0. Sherrill was also dominant in her 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles.Â
Sydney Gray took her No. 2 match with relative ease, winning 6-1, 6-0, as did teammate
Elithe Hudson at No. 5 singles.
Megan Rekieta and
Taylor Brashears won their matches at Nos. 1 and 6 by identical 6-1, 6-3 scores to complete the 9-0 sweep.
BACK ON COURT
The Falcons will return to play on Friday, April 8 with a 2:00 p.m. USA South home match against Salem College and will travel to Averett on Saturday, April 9.
