Pfeiffer Women's Tennis Dispatches Salem, 9-0
Misenheimer, N.C. (April 8, 2022) – The Pfeiffer University women's tennis team took down visiting Salem College by a 9-0 score at the Knapp Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.

THE BASICS
The Falcons swept doubles play with two coming by 8-0 scores.Â
Sydney Gray and
Elithe Hudson won their match at No. 2 and
Darby Sherrill and
Delaney Geygan took their match at No. 3 without losing a single game.
At No. 1, Pfeiffer was also victorious, with
Megan Rekieta and
Alison Sloop teaming for the 8-2 win.
In singles play, Sherrill clinched the match with an easy 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3 over Salem's Alyssa Consentino. Freshman
Brittany Mills won her match at no. 4 over Alyson Gammons in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, as did Sloop at No. 5 and Geygan at No. 6.
Gray won her No. 2 singles match, also in straight sets, with a 6-3, 6-3 triumph over McKinly Rice.
Rekieta took the No. 1 match by a 1-0 score following the retirement of Salem's Haley Gilley.
BACK ON COURT
The Falcons will take to the road for a USA South match against Averett. First serve from Danville, Va. is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
