Pfeiffer Men's Lacrosse Downs Averett on Senior Day, 24-7
Misenheimer, N.C. (April 30, 2022) – The Pfeiffer University men's lacrosse team fell behind early but went on a 10-goal outburst in the first quarter to cruise to a 24-7 win over visiting Averett on Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at Lefko Field

HOW IT HAPPENED
Visiting Averett scored the first two goals of the game, but Pfeiffer responded with 10 goals in the first quarter to lead 10-4 at the end of the period. Sophomore
Quinn Becraft had four first quarter goals to lead Pfeiffer.
In the second quarter, Pfeiffer increased the lead to 15-5 on an unassisted goal my
Mason Tardiff. Goals from Becraft,
Zach Skidmore and Trevin King capped the scoring in the second quarter, sending Pfeiffer to halftime with the 18-6 lead.
Pfeiffer scored four times in the third quarter while holding the visiting Cougars off the board.Â

Tucker Hill, Tardiff and
Aiden Keenan each found the net in the period, giving Pfeiffer the commanding 22-6 lead heading into the final quarter.
In the fourth,
Peter Donahue scored on a Tardiff assist to start the quarter. Averett broke the Pfeiffer scoring run with a goal at 9:12 to make the score 23-7 in favor of Pfeiffer, but Keenan struck with the final goal at 3:03 to send the Falcons to the 24-7 win.
Inside the Box Score
Becraft led the way with six goals and an assist while
Tucker Hill scored four times and also had a single assist. Hill also finished 12-of-19 on faceoffs and collected 12 ground balls.
Trevin King and Aidan Keenan each scored three goals and provided an assets.Â
Brayden Sokolowski and Tardiff had a pair of goals each, with Tardiff dishing a team-best two assists on the afternoon.
Defensively, Kyla Fabrizio had three caused turnovers and goalkeeper
Matt Stocks made four saves in earning the win.
