Late Goal Lifts Averett Over Pfeiffer Men's Soccer, 3-2

th minute to take a 3-2 nonconference win over Pfeiffer University in men's soccer action on Wednesday night under excellent weather at N.E. Lefko Field

How It Happened
The Falcons struck first in the 40
th minute when freshman
Ricky Hernandez-Sexton (Mobile, Ala.) notched his first collegiate goal to put Pfeiffer up 1-0. The Cougars then responded less than four minutes later to tie the match when Jonthomas Buckley scored his first of the season.
The tie was short-lived, as sophomore
Bernardo Jardim (Monaco City, Monaco) scored his second of the season from the left side as he beat Averett goalkeeper Lukas Hanusek to his left to give Pfeiffer the 2-1 lead at just 1:18 into the second half.
Agustin Jaraba drew Averett to the 2-2 tie with his second of the season at in the 57
th minute.
The two teams would battle for the next 19 minutes with both teams logging several shots. Averett's Orion Mills netted what would be the game-winner at 75:45 on an assist from Oliver Koushoult, providing the 3-2 margin that would go final.
Pfeiffer sophomore goalkeeper
Ali Jaafar (Matthews, N.C.) made eight saves on the outing while his Averett counterpart had three.
