Several Career Bests Posted in 3-2 USA South Volleyball Win at Brevard
Brevard, N.C. (Sept. 23, 2022) – The Pfeiffer University volleyball team started USA South play with a 3-2 road win at Brevard on Thursday evening in Boshamer Gym. Several Falcon players recorded career-best performances over several categories.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
Pfeiffer took the five-set affair by hitting for a .242 percentage while holding the host Tornados to just a .104 hitting mark.
Pfeiffer also had seven total blocks in play at the net and registered 65 total kills.
Individually, the senior duo of
Madison Honeycutt (Arroyo Grande, Cal.) and
Mattie Burris (Misenheimer, N.C.) led the offensive attack for the Falcons, with Honeycutt going for a career-high 19 while Burris' 11 was a season high. Freshman
Madison Tate (Lexington, N.C.) also managed nine kills to go along with a pair of solo blocks.
Defensively,
Morgan Shrader (Matthews, N.C.) had a team-best 26 digs, which also set a new career high. Freshman
Gabby Edwards (Catawba, N.C.) had 22 digs, which is also a career best. Tate also had 11 digs for the Falcons.
Sophomore setter
Kylee Mayberry (Harmony, N.C.) had a match-high 31 assists while senior teammate
Kira Suttles (Morganton, N.C.) managed 27 helpers.

The Falcons will continue USA South play on Friday, Sept. 23 when they travel to Greensboro for a league tri-match. Pfeiffer will take on N.C. Wesleyan at 5:00 p.m. and will follow that with a 7:00 p.m. matchup with the host Pride.
