Pfeiffer Men's Golf Earns Third at Jack Ingram/Pfeiffer Fall Invitational
Misenheimer N.C. (Sept. 28, 2022) –The Pfeiffer University men's golf team hosted their first tournament of the season and wound up taking third place at the
Jack Ingram/Pfeiffer Fall Invitational held at the par 72, 6,750 yard Tillery Tradition Country Club in Mt. Gilead, N.C.
The Falcons shot a two-round total of 618 to finish at 42-over par, outdistancing fellow USA South member Southern Virginia by one stroke. Pfeiffer also finished 13 shots better than N.C. Wesleyan.
Individually, Pfeiffer's
Quin Foster (Lexington, N.C.) led the way by tying for sixth place by shooting a two-day total of 151 (+7). Freshman
Brandon Allen (Windsor, Ontario) finished just one stroke behind Foster, finishing n a tie for eighth place with a 152 (+8). Graduate student
Austin Morton (Jacksonville, Fla.) finished just one stroke behind Allen, claiming a tie for 12
th place with a 153 (+9)
Belmont Abbey's "C" team claimed a six -stroke win over Catawba to claim the team crown with a 599 (+23) while Catawba carded a 605 (+29).
Catawba's Chase Clayton won medalist honors by shooting a 147 (72-75) to finish at three-over, one stroke better than Belmont Abbey's Same Newton and fellow Catawba teammate Riley Smith.
