Misenheimer, N.C. (Oct. 4, 2023) -- The Pfeiffer University men's soccer team dropped a 4-2 USA South match at home to Brevard College on Wednesday evening at N.E. Lefko Field.
The loss dropped Pfeiffer's record to 3-5-1 overall and 0-2 in USA South action while Brevard improves to 3-4-2 overall and 1-0-1 in league play.
How it Happened
Brevard grabbed the 1-0 lead when Rocco Barbon scored in the eighth minute on an assist by Ryan Lynch.
The Falcons responded to make it a 1-1 game on a Mateo Lata goal -- his third goal of the season -- in the 10th minute, on the assist from Asuncio Gonzalez.
Brevard went on top 2-1 on Lynch's 31st-minute goal and extended the lead to 3-1 with a 40th-minute goal from Daniel Morgan, assisted by Lynch.
Brevard added to its advantage to make it a 4-1 game on another Lynch score in the 69th minute.
The Falcons narrowed the Tornados' lead to 4-2 thanks to a 77th-minute goal from Gonzalez, his fourth goal of the season.
