Pfeiffer Men's Lacrosse Gets 15-8 Win Over Guilford to Open 2023 Season
Misenheimer, N.C. (Feb. 21, 2023) – The Pfeiffer University men's lacrosse team opened the 2023 season with a convincing 15-8 win over visiting Guilford at Lefko Field on Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Pfeiffer scored the first five goals of the game and never looked back.Â
Zach DeFazio (Mooresville, N.C.) opened the 2023 scoring at 13:53 of the first quarter on an unassisted goal. Junior
Quinn Becraft (Huntersville, N.C.) notched the next three Falcon goals to go up 4-0.Â
Trevin King (Apex, N.C.) then scored at 8:27 to push the lead to 5-0.
Guilford scored the next four goals, three of which were on man-up opportunities to draw to 5-4. King, DeFazio and
Jesse Ondrako (New Hartford, N.Y.) added scores in the second quarter to bolster the Pfeiffer lead to 8-4, a lead they would carry to halftime.
After each team scored once in the third quarter, Guilford opened the fourth with a pair of goals to cut the Pfeiffer lead to 9-7.
Pfeiffer then responded by scoring the next six goals to go up 15-7. Guilford would get the final goal of the game at 1:36 on a man-up opportunity to provide the 15-8 final.

Becraft led Pfeiffer with five goals and one assist while Trevin King scored four. DeFazio finished with four goals while J.P Galloway (Frederick Md.) scored once and had a team-best five assists. Falcon faceoff specialist
