HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 12-8 entering the fourth quarter, the visiting Colonels put together a furious rally scoring four unanswered to tie the game at 12-12 capped by an unassisted goal from Ryan Black at 9:35.
A little over a minute later, Pfeiffer junior
Quinn Becraft (Huntersville, N.C.) regained the lead for the Falcons with an unassisted score of his own at 8:29.
Centre would tie the game once more and 13-13 at 3:37 with a Graham Robbins tally to once again draw the Colonels and Falcons even.
Pfeiffer sophomore
Zach DeFazio (Mooresville, N.C.) would score the game-winner on a Becraft assist at the 2:48 mark.
After the Falcon goal, Centre would take the face off and unleash a pair of shots, one that went wide and the other on target, with Pfeiffer goalkeeper
Nate Woodhill (Hewitt, Texas) making the save.
Pfeiffer then regained possession and was able to clear to the offensive zone and melted the clock in taking a shot clock violation. Centre quickly advanced up the field and got another shot from Will Hubbs that sailed high.
Following a Colonel timeout with four seconds to play, the Pfeiffer defense held without the Colonels getting another shot in the game.
