Pfeiffer Men's Lacrosse Suffers First Setback at Piedmont
Demorest, Ga. (April 15, 2023) – The Pfeiffer University men's lacrosse teams uffered their first setback of the season, falling on the road to Piedmont University, 15-13.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After Pfeiffer jumped ahead 3-0 on first quarter goals by J.P Galloway (11:47),
Jesse Ondrako (10:50) and
Nu Kwan Fair (10:33), Piedmont responded with a pair of back-to-back scores to pull to 3-2.
Pfeiffer added another goal from Ondrako at 3:42 to double the lead to 4-2.
The Lions then scored the first two goals of the second quarter to draw to a 4-4 tie.
Treven King was able to regain the lead for Pfeiffer at 1):27, but Piedmont grabbed their first lead at 6-5 7:48 of the second quarter.
Zach DeFazio and
Quinn Becraft got back-to-back scores to give Pfeiffer the lead once more, this time at 7-6.
The two teams traded goals for the res of the quarter, with Galloway scoring on a -player-up goal to five Pfeiffer the 9-8 halftime lead.
Piedmont opened the third quarter with a goal at 10:51 to tie the game at 9-9, but two DeFazio goals at 9:58 and 9:46 gave the lead back to the Falcons at 11-9. Piedmont then used a five-goal spurt to go up 14-11.
Two more Pfeiffer goals from Becraft and Trevin King pulled the Falcons to 14-13, but Piedmont put the game out of reach with a goal with just 50 seconds remaining to provide the 15-13 final.

Six different Falcons scored, with
Jesse Ondrako and
Zach DeFazio each netting three goals. J.P Galloway,
Quinn Becraft and
Treven King had two goals each while
Nu Kwan Fair had one. Galloway and King also notched two assists each in the loss.
Falcon goalkeeper
Nate Woodhill made 10 saves on the afternoon while Johnny Matrona, his Piedmont counterpart had 16 stops.
Piedmont's Isaac Harrington and Michael Anderson each had three goals in the win.
