Pfeiffer Men's Golf In Third After First Round of USA South Championship
Spartanburg, S.C. (April 24, 2023) – Pfeiffer shot a first round 316 (+28), claiming third place after the first round of the USA South Championship at the par-72, 6781-yard Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, S.C.
Pfeiffer freshman Lapo D'Amato (Rimini, Italy) leads the way for the Falcons after shooting a 76 in round one, which is six shots over-par and is tied for seventh.
Graduate student
Austin Morton (Jacksonville, Fla.) currently is in a tie with teammate
Quin Foster (Lexington, N.C.) for 15
th place, as each shot a seven-over par 79 in round one.
Ezekiel Sigmon (Connolly Springs, N.C.) carded an 80 (+8) in round one while
Wes Page (Gibsonville, N.C.) finished with an 82 (+10). Sigmon is in a 17
th-place tie while Page stands at 20
th.
Methodist leads in the tea competition after shooting a 305 (+17) and sits nine shots ahead of second-place Southern Virginia, who shot a 314 (+26).
Round two of the USA South Championships gets underway on Tuesday morning, April 25.
